ABOUT

RACHEL PASCAL

Experienced health and medical writer

You’re here because you need a specialist. Someone who can interrogate your brief, understand the evidence, and write with your audience in mind.

Over 15 years, I’ve built a portfolio spanning patient advocacy and engagement, medical education, health policy and PR, medical education, digital health content, and more besides. I work with top-tier pharma, patient advocacy organisations, health charities, health tech start-ups, and clinical research organisations — and with the agencies that serve them.

That breadth means I understand all aspects of this work: the scientific, the creative, the strategic, and the compliant. For me, trustworthy health communications should be all of those things at once.

If you need someone who can turn dense clinical data into compelling patient stories, or build evidence-based campaigns that resonate with HCPs, I bring the judgement and experience to make your communications work

Rachel's Story

After years working in agencies, freelancing began as a way to make work fit around family life.

Now, it has become the platform where my professional experience, personal values, and lived experience can come together with more purpose.

Today, I work with clients around the world — from tiny start-ups to global pharma companies — helping them communicate health information with care and credibility.

I also mentor writers looking for more clarity in their businesses, and I write a newsletter called Make Sense Health, with a forthcoming book of the same name.

All three of these threads – client work, mentorship, and the Make Sense project – are tied together by one underlying belief: how we communicate health information shapes what people understand, trust, and do next.

GETTING TO
KNOW
RACHEL

I’m a South-East-London-based mum-of-two, and wife (-of-one), with a love of writing and storytelling – especially stories about how we might live healthier lives in a healthier world.

I’m a qualified yoga teacher and hold a Black belt in Choi Kwang Do (so watch out!) I’m a lover of reading (expect lots of popular science and crime fiction on that bedside table) and coffee-shop afficionado. I’m also a long-time coeliac

On a Sunday night, you’ll find me drinking a G&T, eating a veggie curry and watching Death In Paradise (while dreaming of sunnier climes!) On a Monday morning, I’m ready for anything: mostly chasing around after my young sons.
