Your audience needs health information they can understand, trust, and act upon.

That is the thread running through all of my work: medical and health writing for organisations, mentoring for writers, and Make Sense Health for the public.

With more than fifteen years’ experience across patient engagement and advocacy, medical education, digital content, creative campaigns, scientific publications, and health economics, I help turn complex evidence into materials people can understand and use.

Different audiences. Same foundation. Clearer health communication.

Examples of My Work

A Long-Term Patient Advocacy Programme
Over more than a decade, I have been the primary writer supporting a pharma client's engagement with an oncology patient advocacy community. Each engagement involves live meeting support and note-taking, and a strategic post-meeting report synthesising patient insights and their implications for the client's planning and patient engagement strategy. The relationship has also generated a range of supporting outputs. As a result, I've sustained partnership with patient voice and consistently embedded my strategic insights across more than a decade of evolving treatment options and communications needs.
Patient-friendly informed consent forms across multiple rare disease indications
Working with a specialist communications agency, I developed patient-friendly versions of informed consent forms for rare disease clinical trials across several indications. The work required translating dense legal and clinical language into plain, accessible text that retained full regulatory compliance while being genuinely readable and reassuring for patients with limited prior exposure to clinical research.  As a result, I produced compliant, accessible consent materials that supported recruitment into underserved patient populations across multiple rare disease programmes.
Ongoing editorial and quality assurance support for a market access agency
For several years, I have worked with a market access agency on a retainer basis, providing rigorous fact-checking, data verification, and referencing support. The work involves checking every data point against its source, verifying that claims are supported by the cited evidence, identifying inconsistencies between the text and the underlying analysis, and ensuring that statistical presentations are accurate and appropriately framed. I now have a trusted long-term quality assurance partnership contributing to the accuracy and credibility of submissions to HTA bodies across multiple markets.
LinkedIn ghostwriting for a global pharma executive committee
Working with an advertising agency, I created LinkedIn content for senior executives at a top-tier pharmaceutical company, including the CEO, CMO, and CFO. Each executive had a distinct voice, audience, and communications objective, from thought leadership on industry trends to company strategy and the future of healthcare. The work involved developing a content strategy for each executive, drafting posts that were indistinguishable from their own voice, and refining content based on feedback over time. I became a consistent, trusted ghostwriter, producing senior executive content that supported company reputation, recruitment, and stakeholder engagement at the highest levels.
